The Romanian Magpie – also known by names: Culbutant Roumanie Pie Barbu, Romanian Bearded Thurman, Rumänischer Geelsterter Bärtchentümmler, Capitombolante Romeno Pica Barbuto, Румынский сорочий турман – is a varietal originating from Temeshvar (Romania, northern part), which developed since 1960, was primarily declared as the result of a cross from the Rzhev race. Varieties belonging to this type of Tumbler pigeons although popular in their home country, but not yet widely cultivated, especially in the European region itself. In Germany, the breeding of these varieties was also carried out intensively, and was only recognized in permanent standards in 1973. Have good flying skills, and skillfully perform acrobatic movements in the air, but so far its development has focused more on improving the quality of appearance.
