The English Magpie– also known by the names:Pige Anglais, Englischer Elstertümmler, Capitombolante Pica Inglese, Английская сорока – are varieties originally from Britain (although there are indications that it was actually imported from Germany). Through various crosses, among others with Scandaroon and Homer, but failed. Then last crossed with the Bagdad race, in 1910, then the results obtained in the form as now. Varieties belonging to this Tumbler pigeons type, have good flying ability, but its development is now more intended for displays. In some countries, these varieties are known as “queen of the pigeons”.
