Giant Salonta – or also known by the names: Uriaş de Salonta, Rumunsky Obor, Szalontai Óriás Galamb – is a variety that comes from Salonta (Romania, bordering Hungary), which is estimated to have been developed since 1920-50. This variety is classified as Utility from pigeons type, many are maintained because it has high meat production. But actually, in later developments, this variety is known as a great and reliable pilot.
