Barpan Pigeons – or also known by the names: Darpan , Australian Red – Commonly referred to as “Australian” in India, the breed actually has nothing to do with Australia, but is an Indian breed named “Barpan”. A broad-breasted, strongly built bird, mostly a self colour bird.

It comes in red, yellow, black and white. Red and yellow are common where black and white are rare. The crest can be large or small, with or without crest. Both are muffled. The eyes are yellow. The birds will be the size of a two-crested German trumpeter.
