The Schmolln Trumpeter – also known by the names: Tambour de Schmölln, Schmöllner Trommeltaube, Tamburo in Schmölln, Шмельнский Барабанщик – are varieties originating from Schmölln and Altenburg (Saxony and Thuringia, Germany) regions, but no information has been obtained since when it began to develop (estimated the 18th century or earlier). Varieties classified into this type Trumpeter pigeons, quite popular and widely farmed, including in some countries outside Germany. Having excellent flying skills, and according to his group, these varieties also emit unique trumpet sounds.
