Schumen Tumbler – also known by the names: Culbutant de Schumen, Schumener Tümmler, Capitombolante in Schumen – is a varietal originating from Shumen, Bulgaria, and was formulated to have been developed almost 200 years ago (around the 20th century) 18), and is believed to be the result of a cross with races entered from the Middle East. Some breeders believe that the varieties classified as Tumbler pigeons type have links to Sliven, Razgrad, Chirpan, Haskow and Palamar races. This variety includes ancient races that are very popular in their home country as well as in many countries in Europe. Besides being able to fly very well, also the appearance is quite typical.
