Maltese pigeons – also known by names: Poule Maltais, Malteser, Мальтийский голубь – are varieties originating from Austria, which began to be developed since the 1800s (incorporated into Germany in 1850). Varieties belonging to this type of Utility pigeons ( Hen) were originally farmed as broiler pigeons by ranchers in the countryside, then experienced the development of a very popular display pigeon, both in European countries and in other continents. It is informed that this variety is not capable of flying at all. Somewhat resembles Banat Chicken varieties.
