The dutch Highflyer pigeons – or also known by the names: Haut-volant Néerlandais, Niederländischer Hochflieger, Голландский турман – are varieties originating from the Netherlands, and are said to have been developed since 1735. The varieties belonging to this tumbler pigeons ( highflyer) type were originally developed for the benefit of the flying speed race, being able to fly for hours and very high – so it is informed that the wingtips are plastered with ice when swooping down.
