Luikse Meeuw
the Belgian owl pigeons would have an Eastern origin since the 15th century. During the 19th century, at the beginning of the pigeon sport, the French gull was crossed with the disappeared Camus pigeon, from which emerged a sought after racing pigeon, namely the Liège owl. The Liège owl is strongly related to the Antwerp smelder, but the latter has undergone a real transformation, where the Liège owl has remained the flyer-type.
