The German beauty homer pigeons – also known by the names: Pigeon de Beauté Allemand, Deutsche Schautaube, Viaggiatore Tedesco da Esposizione, Немецкий красивый Гомер – is a German-derived variety, developed since the late 18th century. In 1908, an organization was established specifically to develop this utility form pigeons type of variety, and was named German Show Racing. In 1910, these varieties were accepted in the German national standard, under the name German Beauty Homer. Then in 1930, his name was changed to Deutch Schautaube (German Show Pigeon). Recognition in international standards was only made in 1948, and again referred to as German Beauty Homer. At first, this variety had great flying ability, but gradually lost that ability, and ultimately only developed for the sake of the show. In my opinion, in addition to Maltese varieties, these pigeons are difficult to match in terms of elegance.
