The South German Monk, Muffed – or also known by names: Moine de l’Allemagne du Sud Pattu, Süddeutsche Mönchtaube (Belatscht), Monaco della Germania del Sud (a Zampe Plumate), Южно-Немецкий Космоногий Монах – are varieties which originated in southern Germany, mainly from Württembergisches Oberland, the Biberach region, and locally known as Pinto Biberach. No records have been recorded since when they were developed, only estimated in the 18th century or earlier. The varieties categorized into this type of german color pigeons, have also been very popular in their home country, and have been bred in various countries in Europe. Known to fly well, but its development is more focused on improving the quality of appearance.
