The Montauban pigeon – also known by the name: Монтаубан – is a variety derived from the Montauban region (Francis), which is known to have been developed since the mid-19th century, and then spread to Germany and several other countries. But until now, these varieties are still considered not too popular, especially outside Europe. Varieties belonging to this type of utility form pigeons are informed as varieties originally intended for the culinary market (pigeon broilers), but in subsequent developments are more devoted to the development of the quality of appearance.
