The German Barb Pigeons – or also known by the names: Indien Type Allemand, Deutsche Indianer, Indiano (Polacco Tedesco), Немецкий индиан – are varieties originally from North Africa, which have been known since the 1600s. Then the race was put into the Netherlands, England, and Germany through Cyprus. In subsequent developments, this variety was later better known as the German race (EE calls it derived from: Deutch). Varieties belonging to this type of wattle pigeons having good flying skills, but now mostly maintained for the sake of the show.
