Aachener Bandkröpfer
Aachen Cropper – also known by the names: Boulant d’Aix la Chapelle, Gozzuto di Aquisgrana, Аахенский дутыш – are varieties bred since the mid-19th century, on the Lower Rhine, specifically in the Aachen region, German. This variety is classified in the Cropper type. As is generally the pigeon variant of the pouter or cropper group, these decorative pigeons also inflate the crop (like goiter). This ornamental dove is of medium size, usually appearing upright with a unique pattern of crest and tapered triangular color down in its bulging cache, with a mid-cavity boundary and chest base. The existence of a color band on the chest, encircling the body, causing it to be named bandkröpfer.
